HAPPY NEW YEAR MY LOVES!!!

I know, it’s already February but it still feels like a new year. Happy New Month! 2020 came and went just like that. It had been a tough year with all the pandemic issues that we had to deal with. I thought that now that we are quarantined, I would have the chance to cook dozens of meals but I guess the inspiration was lackluster to the point I was always happy that there were left overs. No need to cook. I hope this year will be a bit better and hoping for the best. So to start us off, ill share with you my top 30 recipes on my YouTube channel. My channel has officially crossed 6,000 subscribers with 500, 000 overall views! It’s something small to celebrate because when I started my channel I was a bit scared about not receiving feedback or people not watching the content, but thank you guys for your interactions, comments and even views, you are my MVPs! NDENGU CURRY IN COCONUT CREAM

Whenever I think about Ndengu or Pojo in Swahili or Mung Dal in Indian or Green Grams in English, 🤗😄 I always think of Chapati. My next favourite meal after R&B (Rice & Beans)! I like Rice and Ndengu but not that much, I would rather eat the ndengu on its own. I love coconut in anything, and that is what I love about this Ndengu curry. You can check out the full recipe on my YOUTUBE channel below. Comment or ask any question and I will be happy to answer.

GARLIC CUMIN FRIED BEEF

Remember how I told you that we celebrated Mashujaa day with some beans curry and beef? Well this was the beef dish that accompanied all the meals of that day. Unless you are vegan or vegetarian, everybody loves LOVES beef! Or maybe its just me, can it really be. I do love my Nyama Choma so fried beef, what we Kenyans love to call "beef wet fry" or "dry fry beef" is closer to Nyama Choma! This beef dish is one of those that you will be enjoying with your family on a regular basis. It is that delicious, I can guarantee you that!

CHUNKY VEGGIE & CHICKEN STIR FRY

Chunky vegetables are great because they are crunchy and crisp on the edges especially when stir frying. This chicken dish is so simple to make you will be making it on the regular! I had pre marinated the chicken so that it can even add more flavour and taste. I think I am officially a chicken addict. I have so many chicken recipes and still have more to try out! Hope you enjoy this dish and do not forget to comment about your favourite chicken dish below.

MARSALA EGG CURRY

I had egg curry at my friend's house once and I loved it so I decided to make my own and it turned out great. Egg curries are pretty easy to cook, and the best part is that you can add whatever spices and herbs that you want. Perfect for lunch or even dinner as a side dish with rice.

KENYAN STIR FRY PORK STRIPS

So many ways to cook pork and I have only just began. Its already the second por recipe this month and I'm already looking for other ways that I can enjoy pork. I had the most amazing pork at a place along Mlolongo Mombasa Road that apparently specializes in all kinds of pork recipes. From pork fry, grilled pork, stewed pork to stewed pork. I guess you can say I'm trying to replicate that dish. I could go and ask the chef about his recipe, trouble is, I'm not sure I remember the place. It was tucked away among many vibandas... I still have to look for it. But honestly this recipe came out of a missing ingredient, tomatoes. I was just going to make a simple pork recipe for lunch that just included frying the pork in onions, tomatoes, adding salt, and that was it! But then it was already lunch and I didn't want to go to the grocers. Luckily I had some veggies  like french beans, carrots and bell peppers, so I decided to make the recipe a blog post, and here we are.

CHILI STIR FRY PRAWNS

Ever made a dish that you always see in restaurants or other cooks making and it seems complicated? For me it has always been seafood. Specifically all other sea foods apart from Tilapia that we cook all the time at home. First ever prawn recipe and I'm so excited. You should see me do a happy dance. The weather has done a complete 360 turn and its getting colder by the day. I wanted something spicy and I happened to have some prawns that were lying around, just taunting me, come on, cook me, cook me pleeeze! I just had to. The best part about cooking prawns is that it takes very few minutes and they're  done. A perfect dish that will impress your family and friends when you come together
