Garlic Cumin Fried Beef


Remember how I told you that we celebrated Mashujaa day with some beans curry and beef? Well this was the beef dish that accompanied all the meals of that day. Unless you are vegan or vegetarian, everybody loves LOVES beef! Or maybe its just me, can it really be. I do love my Nyama Choma so fried beef, what we Kenyans love to call "beef wet fry" or "dry fry beef" is closer to Nyama Choma! This beef dish is one of those that you will be enjoying with your family on a regular basis. It is that delicious, I can guarantee you that!
INGREDIENTS

1 Kg Beef
1 Cup Prepackaged Mixed Veggies
3 Tomatoes
1 Onion
1 Tablespoon Ground Cumin
1 Tablespoon Ground Black Pepper
1 Tablespoon Minced Ginger
Salt to taste

METHOD

Add cleaned beef to pan and cook until all the water has evaporated. Add 2 cups water if beef is still not tender enough


Cook until all the water completely evaporates. Your beef should be cooked through by now


Fry the beef in its own fat until crispy and brown


You can add 2 tablespoons oil if beef is dry or not fatty enough


Add the red chopped onions



Fry until the onions have softened


Add the chopped tomatoes



Cover and cook until the tomatoes are paste like


Add in your mixed veggies usually prepackaged from the super market



Add salt


Add ground cumin


Add minced ginger, fry 5 minutes to incorporate all those delicious ingredients


Serve immediately


How absolutely mouth watering is that beef dish?


If you want to make a stew you can just add a bit of water and simmer down to get a thick sauce

  • 1 Kg Beef
