I love CREPES! Sweet crêpes are generally made with wheat flour. When
sweet, they can be eaten as part of breakfast or as a dessert. Common fillings
include Nutella spread, preserves, sugar (granulated or powdered), maple syrup,
golden syrup, lemon juice; whipped cream, fruit spreads, custard, and sliced
soft fruits. Savory crêpes are made with non-wheat flours such as buckwheat.
Batter made from buckwheat flour is gluten-free, which makes it possible for
people who have a gluten allergy or intolerance to eat this type of crêpe.
Common savoury fillings for crêpes served for lunch or dinner are cheese, ham,
and eggs, ratatouille, mushrooms, artichoke (in certain regions), and various
meat products. Batters can also consist of other simple ingredients such as
butter, milk, water, eggs, flour, salt, and sugar. Fillings are commonly added
to the center of the crêpe and served with the edges partially folded over the center. An interesting tradition about crepes is that, in France,
crêpes are traditionally served on Candlemas (La Chandeleur), 2 February. This
day was originally Virgin Mary's Blessing Day but became known in France as
"Le Jour des Crêpes" (literally translated "The Day of the
Crêpes", and sometimes called colloquially as "Avec Crêpe Day",
"National Crêpe Day", or "day of the Crêpe "), referring to
the tradition of offering crêpes. The belief was that catching the crêpe with a
frying pan after tossing it in the air with your right hand while holding a
gold coin in your left hand would cause you to become rich that year. The
roundness, and golden colour from being fried in butter, of the crêpe resembles
the sun and its rays. This symbolism also applies to the coin held in the
person's hand. Yeeeeei to eating more crepes!

CARAMELIZED BANANA STUFFED CREPES
Hey Lovelies,
Happy New Month Loves! It's Friyay! Plus, its my 101 post! Yeei me! Let's kick off this new month with one of my sinful indulgences, after chocolate that is! Crepes! I cannot seem to get enough of these little morsels of deliciousness, I could eat them everyday, seriously! Crepes are so versatile, you can make them with whatever ingredients your mind tells you to, aaaand, you can stuff them with sweet or savory fillings. The sky really is the limit when it comes to this amazingly delicious breakfast, lunch, dinner, midnight snack dessert! See how you can eat it whenever. So my first Crepes recipe for this month is caramelized Banana stuffed Crepes! How lovely does that sound? Crispy on the outside yet gooey on the inside because of the bananas caramelized in sugar and butter! Then to top it off, sprinkled with icing sugar, no regrets! Yes yummyness! I feel like I'm on a high, that's the way I want to start this new month! With incredible food, people and places. I want to live out my 'good food. good vibes. good places' blog mantra. Like Julia Childs said " people who love to eat are always the best people..." so cheers to good food and being the best person to eat with 🍴🍷🔥

CARAMELIZED APPLE STUFFED CREPES
Comfort. Sweetness. Palate Sizzle. A few of the words I can use to describe this heart warming Breakfast dish. It's Apple Craving Season I tell yah! When making the Crepe Batter you have to be really careful about getting it right. The Batter should not be too thick as that will turn them into Pancakes. There are so many fillings that you can wrap into your Crepes, whether Savory, Fruits or Cream, the choice is yours to make. Or you can simply just eat the Crepes on their own, since they are a complete meal.Stuffed Crepes are a traditional Dessert that you cannot just eat one and be satisfied, you can eat them for Breakfast, Afternoon Lunch and even Dinner all in the same day. Today I decided to try my hand on Caramelized Apples to stuff into my Crepes. This is my first ever Crepes recipe and I am happy that they turned out great! I will definitely be making more Crepes Recipes and stuffing with different fillings. Meanwhile enjoy my Caramelized Apple Stuffed Crepes.
