Only 2 days to Valentines Day and were into decadent romantic desserts. I love desserts that are easy to make, with little ingredients and best of all, no bake! This recipe has literally only two ingredients yet its so delicious you'd think it has a thousand ingredients. Truffles come in various flavors, colors, or even toppings. Since I made some strawberry brigadeiros truffles I knew I had to sneak another one in for my 7 Days Of Red Velvet series. Treats that you can make in more minutes are the best since you don't have to think or worry about how to make them. The best part is that these truffles do not have to be only for special occassions, you even have them for breakfast, how about that?

Red Velvet Truffles – FAQs
What are red velvet truffles?
Red velvet truffles are rich, bite-sized desserts made by combining crumbled red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting, then rolling the mixture into balls and dipping them in melted chocolate. They’re often served chilled and are popular for holidays, weddings, or gift boxes.
Can I use store-bought red velvet cake?
Yes, you can use either homemade or store-bought red velvet cake. Just make sure it’s cooled completely before mixing it with frosting. Store-bought cake saves time and works well, especially when you're in a hurry.
How long do red velvet truffles last?
When stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator, red velvet truffles can last up to one week. For longer storage, they can be frozen for up to two months. Thaw them in the fridge before serving.
Do I need to use cream cheese frosting?
Cream cheese frosting is traditional and gives the classic red velvet flavor, but you can substitute it with vanilla frosting, mascarpone, or even Greek yogurt for a tangier twist. Adjust the consistency as needed.
What kind of chocolate is best for coating?
White chocolate pairs beautifully with red velvet truffles for a stunning color contrast and sweet balance. However, dark or milk chocolate can also be used, depending on your preference.
Why are my truffles falling apart?
If your truffle mixture is too dry or too moist, the balls may not hold shape. Add frosting gradually until the mixture binds easily. Chill the balls before dipping to help them stay intact.
