- Preheat
your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.
- In a
medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and
salt.
- In a
separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated
sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat
in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated.
- Mix in
the lemon zest and lemon juice.
- Gradually
add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk,
beginning and ending with the dry mixture. Mix until just combined.
- Pour
the cake batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake
in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into
the center comes out clean.
- Remove
the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then
transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- In a
small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest
until you have a smooth glaze.
- Once
the cake has cooled, place it on a serving plate.
- Pour
the lemon glaze over the top of the cake, allowing it to drizzle down the
sides.
- Garnish
your Simple & Easy Lemon Cake with additional lemon zest or lemon
slices if desired.
- Slice
and serve your delicious lemon cake to enjoy!
- Make
