JALEBI



Crunchy delicious little snacks that are easy to make and will definitely not stay too long. Its Good Friday today so why not make some delicious Jalebi snacks for the kids and you too. Dipped in orange sugar syrup they are that perfect dish to snack on during the day as you prepare the main dishes.
INGREDIENTS


BATTER
1 Cup All Purpose Flour
Pinch Baking Powder
Tiny pinch Baking Soda
3/4 Cup Water
Orange Food Color

SUGAR SYRUP
2 Cups Sugar
1 Cup Water
Orange Food Color
1 Lemon Juice

METHOD


Add 2 cups water in a pan on high heat


Pour in 1 cup water


Stir until the sugar dissolves


Once the sugar mixture has started bubbling, add in a sqeeze of lemon juice


Allow to keep bubbling


Add into the syrup orange food color


Cook until the syrup has thickened


For the batter add baking powder into flour in a bowl


Add a tiny pinch of baking soda


Add in orange food color


Whisk the dry ingredients until combined


Add water into the dry ingredients


Start mixing the batter


Add a tablespoon at a time of water until you get smooth slightly thick batter


Pour batter in a sqeeze bottle or tomato sauce bottle


Squeeze spiral shapes into the hot oil. Start from the inside out to create spirals


Finish frying all the batter, set aside


How gorgeous is that Jalebi


Add the fried Jalebi in the orange sugar syrup


Dip all Jalebi is orange sugar syrup


The test for a true Jalebi is that it should be CRUNCHY when you bite in


You can serve the Jalebi with milk or as a snack
