Healthy Banana Parfait – FAQs & Nutrition Card
A Light and Wholesome Treat That Feels Like Dessert
This easy banana parfait layers sliced bananas with vanilla yogurt, crunchy toppings like granola or nuts, and optional extras like honey or seeds. It’s great for breakfast, a post-gym snack, or a sweet-yet-healthy dessert.
❓ FAQs
Q1: What kind of yogurt works best for this parfait?
A: Low-fat vanilla yogurt adds natural sweetness and creaminess. For a healthier option, use plain Greek yogurt and add a few drops of vanilla extract + a touch of honey or maple syrup.
Q2: Can I use overripe bananas?
A: Absolutely! Riper bananas are sweeter and softer, perfect for parfaits. If the banana is very soft, mash it slightly and layer it like a fruit compote.
Q3: What can I add to make it more filling?
A: Try layering in:
- Chia seeds or ground flaxseed
- A scoop of protein powder mixed into the yogurt
- Rolled oats or a spoon of peanut butter
- These boost protein and fiber, making it more satisfying.
Q4: Is this parfait good for meal prep?
A: Yes! Assemble in small mason jars and store in the fridge for up to 2 days. Keep crunchy toppings (like granola or nuts) separate until ready to eat to avoid sogginess.
Q5: What are the best toppings for this parfait?
A: Go with your taste and texture preference. Great ideas include:
- Granola or crushed Weetabix
- Sliced almonds or walnuts
- Coconut flakes
- A dash of cinnamon or nutmeg
- Berries for added antioxidants
Q6: Can I make it dairy-free?
A: Yes! Use a plant-based vanilla yogurt (like coconut, almond, or soy-based) to make it fully vegan and dairy-free.
