📝 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q1: What is a peanut butter mug cake?
A: It’s a single-serving cake made with peanut butter and other pantry staples, cooked in a mug using a microwave. It’s soft, rich, and perfect for a quick dessert craving.
Q2: Can I make it without eggs?
A: Yes! Many mug cake recipes are eggless. Peanut butter itself helps with binding and moisture.
Q3: Is it microwave-only or can I bake it?
A: While designed for the microwave (ready in ~1 minute), you can bake it in an oven-safe ramekin at 350°F (175°C) for about 12–15 minutes.
Q4: Can I make it sugar-free or healthier?
A: Yes. Substitute regular sugar with stevia, monk fruit, maple syrup, or skip altogether. Use whole wheat flour or oat flour for more fiber.
Q5: Can I use crunchy peanut butter?
A: Absolutely! Crunchy peanut butter adds a delightful texture to the mug cake.
Q6: What toppings go well with it?
A: Try sliced bananas, a drizzle of honey, chocolate chips, sea salt flakes, or even a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Q7: Is this cake gluten-free?
A: It can be! Use certified gluten-free flour or almond flour to make a GF version.
