One of my very favorite fruits is Avocado. You can literally have it with so many sweet or savoury dishes. I made Guacamole, a perfect dip that will feature more often. I was in the mood for something easy to whip up and since Avocado and Bread were available I chose to fix something with the two. To add some heat to the dish I sprinkled with Chili Flakes.It's still Poppy Seeds week so they were also included in the Avocado Bread. Ready in less than 5 minutes, this snack makes for a great on the go meal. You can even pack it for lunch as you go for work. To make it kid friendly you can skip the Chili Flakes and add Peanut Butter or Nutella.
Ingredients-1 Avocado
-1/4 Teaspoon Salt
-1/2 Teaspoon Chili Flakes
-1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
-2 Slices or more Wholewheat Bread
-1 Teaspoon Poppy Seeds
Method
-Cut the Avocado in half
-Peel the skin off the Avocado
-Put the Avocado on a plate and cut it across into thin slices
-Arrange the Avocado slices on top of the Wholewheat Bread
-Sprinkle salt on the Avocado
-Add the Chili Flakes.
-You can be as genrous as you want to be with the Chili Flakes or put less
-Sprinkle with Poppy Seeds
-And you are done. Such a simple snack that you can enjoy on the go or as a breakfast idea!
AVOCADO ON BREAD WITH POPPY SEEDS
Ingredients
- 1 Avocado
- 2 Wholewheat Bread
- 1 Tablespoon Chili Flakes
- Pinch Salt
- 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
Instructions
-Slice half the Avocado in thin slices-Arrange the Avocado slices on top of the Wholewheat Bread-Sprinkle Salt on the Avocado-Sprinkle a generous amount of the Chili Flakes on the Avocado-Finish with a sprinkling of the Poppy Seeds-Serve immediately
