Have you ever tasted flat bread so fluffy, soft and delicious you didn't want to share? These green onions are exactly that and more. Flat breads are usually served as side dishes because they go so well with curries, dips and even chutneys. My very first Naan bread was a total hit and they went as first as they came to the table. I never knew any this else could top that but I have been proved wrong by the utterly awesome flavour combinations that you get from the green onions. They give this bread a fresh crunchy element that is just out of this world good! The aroma that cones from these breads as you cook them will just give you an indication of the kind of party your taste buds are just about to have! What is your favourite flat bread recipe?

3/4 Cup Water
1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
13/4 Cup Flour
3/4 Cup Spring Onions
1 Teaspoon Black Pepper
3/4 Teaspoon Salt
METHOD
In a bowl mix together flour, yeast, sugar and salt. Whisk to combine well
Add the olive oil
Pour in the water little by little
Mix with a spatula until the mixture starts to come together
Knead until dough is smooth and elastic
Cover dough and let it rise 1 hour or until doubled in size
After 1 hour punch down the dough to remove air and pour in the chopped green onions until mixed well
Divide dough into 8 pieces
Take one of the dough and roll it out into a tear shaped 1/4 inch size. Cover the rest as you roll the dough out
Repeat the process until all the dough has been used up. Cover with kitchen towel and let it rest five minutes
Brush a non stick pan or skillet with oil. Place on of the flat breads on the hot pan and cook until it starts to rise or bubbles appear
Flip the flat bread so that the second sides cooks as well until brown patches appear on the top/ the bread becomes golden brown
Remove the flat bread from the heat set on a kitchen paper lined basket to keep warm as you finish the other breads.
I am loving flat breads, so many ways to create a delicious meal without breaking a sweat.
These green onion flat breads really store well in an airtight container in the fridge. And warm up really well either on the pan or microwave. So pillowy soft and fluffy on the inside yet softly crunchy on the outside
Serve with raita, curry or even chutney as a breakfast option
I devoured mine with this delicious onion raita that was the perfect match
